Hank Melong's Blues Review

I was invited by Joe Renaud, to experience a taste of the blues up in Porquis Junction.

I'm going to refer that little town as "SAB CITY", from now on, and the stage with all that great talent, as the "SNAKE PIT". One look at Sab's boots and you'll soon see the reason why. Now being an amatuer musician, folks, this wasn't the event to miss. The talent up on stage was beyond my expectations. This was an act, worth boasting about to the rest of Canada.

But it was throught the lens of my Nikon that I could explain the feeling better.

Amos It was the facial expressions of Amos Garret, that told you he made a deal with the devil. Them were hot tunes people. Southside..Steve Oh, yeah!! The there was that great harp and solo by "Southside Steve" that took the house down and you can see him playing a duet with J.W. Jones. J.W.Jones..and..Southside

A look at Maureen Brown's cool facial expression told you that we were in good company. Her purcussion was right on the money! We could feel the energy comming right that drum set. What a lady!! The talent coming onto the stage was top billing.

Up in the good old north. As the night rolled along and the beer flowed, the emotions of the audience of SAB CITY blues. The guy showed me he could play and the band had what it took to follow. (Stay away from country Pete! Stick with the friends that shared that stage, that night.) The more blues tunes followed, to the likes of Big Daddy G, Mr. Juno himself.
