Henry Melong 2003
Review
The Dylan Wickens Project was on stage when I had arrived and played a good solid performance. It was nice to see some horn playing along with those strong bass lines comming from Lee.
It was good to see JAKE& THE FUNDAMENTALS this year. The band was putting out some new tunes that left you wanting to hear their next CD. The songs were great. Keep it up guys.
Paul James had showed the crowd what he was all about, to those who weren't aquainted with his repertoire. The guy walked off the stage and into the crowd teasing the audience with several riffs of his own style of the blues. Not to mention that a beer bottle could be used for good slide guitar.
Maureen Brown came back this year with her amicable style. Her solid drumming and that lovely voice gave the blues of the day a gentle yet strong impression. "Love the scrub board Mo"
FATHEAD was an interesting treat for the ears, playing their unique arrangements. Their style of unpredictable blues left you wanting for more. And that they did. Fathead came back for a brief encore.

Porquis Blues Festival 2003 Review

What was especially welcomed, was the sunny sky. It had been cloudy that very morning but it appears that the weather hadn't dampened the spirits of both the musicians and their audience. Although this was a blues festival, the spirit of the crowd was far from blue.
Sab livened up the show with that rocking hard blues of his. The guy really loves playing with his audience. Although the band was cranking a few decibals louder than the others, the blues was evidently his.
